The
Solar power plant will be built by Amnis Energy from Zagreb.
The company was founded by a former director of the VA TECH,
Werner Schoissengeier.

Amnis
Energy will enter into a partnership with the Austrian company Green Source to
build a one megawatt power plant in Barban, which will produce 1.2 million kWh
of electricity per year.

Schoissengeier
said that this is the first plant of its kind in Croatia, and that his goal is
to build ten solar plants that will produce about 105 million kWh per year, and
whose production would have sufficient power for 2,600 households.

The
total investment value is estimated at 22 million kuna. Schoissengeier
announced that solar power plant in Barban will be put to work during summer of
next year, and hopes that all other power plants will be finished by
2012.
