46.5 Million Euros for Renewable Energy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Great news are coming from Sarajevo. Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda and Ambassador of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Hellbach signed agreement on financial cooperation which is worth 48 million Euros.

Bevanda said that under this agreement there would be enabled withdrawal of 47.5 milion Euros through favorable loans and 500,000 Euros of grant funds of which 52% is going to Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 48% to the Republic of Srpska.

He clarified that with these funds will be credited projects in the field of development of hydro energy and other renewables, while grant funds are related to for project “Water supply and sewerage in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Bevanda thanked to the authorities of Federal Republic of Germany which have approved around 600 million Euros for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Hellbach said that Germany through those projects want to support Bosnia and Herzegovina to better use its energy potential and he pinpointed that this funds are not for budgets but for concrete projects.

It can be said that this is amazing opportunity for people who work in the sector of renewables and this is chance for making some concrete actions. This is also opportunity for young people in our country to mobilize and activate in this sector.
