Biogas power plant in Novo Selo near Samac for fifteen days is expected to begin full production of electricity, which will in the next 15 years be in the network, it was announced on the official website of the Municipality of Samac.

Head of Economy of the Municipality of Milan Simic says that the investor, the company Gold MG, by 2020 plans to invest more than 15 million KM, adding that half of the money already invested.

– It is a company that the Municipality received the concession of 220 hectares of land and which is an example of the maximum land use, starting from the production of animal feed, beef cattle production through the production of manure to use manure to produce electricity – said Simic.

He says that this is the entire cycle with the aim of maximizing the use of agricultural land for the production of animal feed and electricity from alternative sources.

Owner biogas plant and the company Gold MG, Goran Mitrovic, says that it is a facility fueled by biogas created by rotting crop residues and biomass of all types, adding that in this way solves the problem of manure.

– The plant will produce megawatts of electricity that will go into the grid, a megawatt of heat being used in dryers to be fermented manure, dried and briquetted. This offer in the market for vegetable growers, fruit growers, horticulture, florists. High quality humus in large quantities imported from the Netherlands, and now we have a home – said Mitrovic.

He points out that the work on the power plant will be continued expansion of the farm, by raising the dryer for drying the manure and other crop residues, slaughterhouse and greenhouse.

– The investment is completed, the building is in use, completed the probationary period, we have delivered the first quantities of electricity to the grid. It is now completed certification of the building and in 15 days I expect that we will go with the full production of electricity, which will in the next 15 years will be in the network. That’s about one-third of Samac municipality – said Mitrovic.

He recalled that in Novo Selo and Donji Zabar has a staff of 100 employees in all operating units and that this number will be increased.
