At the beginning of August 2010 Center for Education and Raising Awareness of Energy Efficiency – Energis has become a full partner in the Renwable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), the first and only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this important international institution. Energis has been awarded with this partnership due to its recognition of its work for over the past 6 months, since the official founding of Energis and early action in the field of energy efficiency and environmental protection.

During this period, Energis has been recognized as a serious partner in these areas, especially in research that points to the
necessity of implementation of energy efficient solutions for households and industry and the positive effect on the environment. Media appearances, research studies and projects are just some of the activities that Energis successfully implemented in recent years. This membership is of great importance to energy efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina because it
allows access to a large base of experts, experience and publications in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Center for Education and Raising Awareness of Energy Efficiency – Energis has gained international recognition
through active participation in congresses and conferences, including the Wood Energy Congress held at the International Wood Fair in Klagenfurt, Austria.

REEEP was established alongside the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. It is now comprised of 340 partners including 45 governements as well as a range of private companies and international organizations. The REEEP Regional Secretariats around the world, including China and India, ensure that activities are local relevant and focused. REEEP is supported primarily by governments and contributions from the private sector. Robust governance and monitoring structures ensure that all contributions are spent transparently and effectively REEEP’s mission is to facilitate the transformation of energy systems by accelerating the uptake of renewables and energy efficiency technology, as a means of reducing carbon emissions, increasing energy security, and improving access to sustainable energy for the poor worldwide. REEEP Partners agree that achieving this requires a concerted global effort to create a level playing field for sustainable energy. More on REEEP-in, objectives and projects of the partnership can be found at the Energis website at www.energis.ba.
