The operator for renewable energy sources and efficient cogeneration (Operator for RES) has announced the implementation of the strategic goal "The public presentation of the competence of operators of renewable energy sources" from the the Work Plan of Operators for the RES for the year 2016.
– This operational objectives we want to actively participate in joint projects with NGOs and international organizations, such as GIZ, USAID, UNDP to raise awareness and benefits to the public on the use of renewable energy sources – said the director of Operator for RES Hajrudin Becirovic in an interview to news agencies.
Operator for RES in its work plan aims to contribute to the overall strategic priorities of the Federation, which is contained in the Action Plan of FBiH for use of renewable energy sources and efficient cogeneration.
It is an efficient use of energy and reducing the impact of fossil fuels on the environment, reduce dependence on imported energy, job creation and entrepreneurship in energy and diversity of energy production from five primary sources (solar energy, hydropower, wind energy, biomass and cogeneration plants).
– Each of the five strategic objectives are brand new objectives which will stimulate the entire system of electricity produced from renewable energy sources in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a stronger, more stable, more efficient and transparent. Realizing these goals Operator for RES responds to the obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ie. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina arising out of the third energy package of the EU in the part related to renewable energy – said Becirovic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina joining the Energy Community is committed to the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption in 2020 will be 40 percent, and the target share of energy from renewable sources for the Federation is 41 percent.

The activities that have marked the past year are the completion of the establishment of an institutional framework for the implementation of regulations in the field of renewable energy sources and the allocation of quotas for the planned dynamic primary sources hydro and solar energy.
Due to the great interest of investors, dynamic quota for solar power are completely filled in accordance with the Action Plan for the use of renewable energy sources in the Federation (APOEF). The planned process of visiting all plants, whose contracts to purchase electricity operator taken over by power companies is also realized.
