Today at the Mechanical Faculty in Sarajevo, Energis introduced the CO2 Friends project.

CO2 Friends project is a student competition with aim to reduce at least 5% of overall electricity consumption within selected faculties on three universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (University of Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka and University of Mostar). Competition is designed to engage student teams and enable them to act as a „energy police“ – they monitor, save, advise and implement measures that will reduce energy consumption within faculties and ultimately lower the carbon footprint of the faculty.

Winners of the competition will be selected based on their achievements: the team that manages to generate the largest savings will be declared a winner. Savings will have to be documented and proved as well as measures that led to those savings. Teams will have to log and publish each activity, and the winning team’s log will be used as a best-case scenario for energy savings in universities insuring sustainability of project’s outputs.
