Contract signed for increasing the energy efficiency of primary school Domanovići

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Rashid Hadžović, Mayor of Čapljina Smiljan Vidic and Head of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Herzegovina Božene Kaltak signed a contract for the reconstruction of the elementary school in Domanovići.

The works refer to the increasing energy efficiency of school, and the total value of the project amounts to 290,500 KM, of which the government will allocate 200 000 HNK, a 90,500 KM was provided by UNDP.

President of the Government of HNK Nevenko Herceg on that occasion reminded that the cantonal government, in the framework of the project “Green Economic Development”, plans to invest a total of 9 million in projects to improve energy efficiency in public buildings around the National Theatre.

“By signing this agreement the Government of of HNK has once again shown that education and creating conditions for education a top priority of our work. I express the willingness of the government to in the partnership with UNDP continue our cooperation on such projects to bring even more schools and other public institutions to adequately adapt to the needs of our citizens, but also make maximum involved in improving energy efficiency, and environmental protection ”, said Herceg after signing the agreement.

The purpose of the “Green Economic Development” is to reduce the budget allocations for energy and water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, local hiring and raising awareness of the importance of energy efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the Government of HNK.
