A new website for the initiative ‘Free Movement of Electricity’ along with a Facebook page was recently launched, which aims to draw attention to the European Union that is needed urgently to enable free movement of electricity in its territory.

The Initiative is coordinated by EWEA, Europacable and EURELECTRIC in partnership with AEBIOM, Business Europe, E3G, European Climate Foundation, European Copper Institute, EGEC, EPIA, EREC, GWEC and other partners.

The message of the Initiative is for Europe to, 25 years after the law, should be have a greater freedom of the movement of electricity, the single internal market for electricity and a new infrastructure that will allow it. The single market would increase competitiveness and security of supply, and make it easier to include more renewable energy sources and would help in achieving climate targets.

The website is designed as a platform for all who support this new initiative, the center of the page is a statement that explains why the association and the free movement of electricity is needed and what should be done to achieve this goal.
