GiraSolar Plans to Build Europe’s Largest Solar Power Plant in Turkey

GiraSolar, the US-Dutch solar company has begun negotiations with local power companies in Turkey on the construction of the largest solar power plant in Europe. GiraSolar, the US-Dutch solar company has begun negotiations with local power companies in Turkey on the construction of the largest solar power plant in Europe. Also, the plan is to manufacture solar panels in Turkey for the export to Europe.

Last week the Chief Executive Officer M. Wieland Koornstra told Hurriyet Daily News & Economic Review at the Dutch business mission to Istanbul that their goal is to build the largest solar power plant in Turkey. Their mission was led by Henk Bleker, the Dutch Minister of Agriculture and Foreign Trade, which included 22 companies.

The solar power plant will be located in southern Turkey with an estimated capacity of 100 megawatts.
