How Airplanes Endanger the Climate

Jet planes are one of the biggest polluters of air. The EU has therefore set rules which seeks to limit such pollution. In Moscow was held international conference of the Association of air carriers which are opposed to this decision.

Since the beginning 2012 all airlines whose flights start or end at the European soil must submit certificates of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) during these flights. If this rate is too high, it will have to pay a fine. The European Commission set a quota with the maximum permitted levels of emissions that develop during airplane flights, who cause greenhouse gas effect. For this amount, the Commission shall issue certificates, which can be “Traded”.
