In addition, the share of renewable energy sources in the Hungarian energy mix is ​​expected to increase to 15% by 2030 and 20% in 2050. In accordance with these plans, approximately 200 million Euros per year should be available to producers of electricity from renewable sources through a variety of subsidies.

One of the goals of the energy strategy is to increase energy security, while as a result of renewable energy sources could replace the entire energy imports, which currently stands at 13% of total consumption.
