Investment projects in hydropower of BiH presented in Vienna

Invited by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the BiH delegation composed of representatives of key state and entity ministerial level with competencies in the field of energy, Chamber / Chamber of Commerce of FBiH, Elektroprivreda of BiH, Elektroprivreda HZ HB, Elektroprivreda RS, operators of renewable sources of FBiH, state regulatory Commission SERC, participating in the Conference on hydro potential of the Western Balkans today in Vienna, began on 29 November.

During the first day of the conference on behalf of the delegation from the Federation, Vice-President of the Federal Chamber Mirsad Jašarspahić presented a list of projects in the field of hydropower, which the Federal Government committed itself as a priority with the basic data such as: the developer, location, status, partnership models, and the estimated value investments.

Referring to the total hydropower potential in BiH, Jašarspahić pointed out that the construction of new hydro power plants with the reconstruction of existing, may cause additional 2,000 MW, and that the more than 400 micro-locations on rivers across the country can achieve a cumulative increase by another 1,000 MW. Of course, we pointed out the powers of different levels of government in the processes of implementation of such projects.
