Japan: More charging stations for electric cars than gas stations

With regard to global trends, and above all to those in Japan, as the country of technological development, the future is in electric cars.

So in Japan, already there are more charging stations for electric cars than gas stations. The research started by the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has revealed that in the country there are more than 40,000 charging stations for electric cars, compared to the gas pump, which is 34,000.

Private stations for charging electric cars dominate, but there are 3,000 public stations.

In order to encourage the purchase of electric cars, and hybrid, the Government of Japan offers substantial subsidies. Japan wants to establish an extensive network of public and private charging stations for electric cars, in which they are leaders in the world. In the US, there are only 9,000 charging stations for electric cars and 114,500 gas stations.

Executive Director of General Motors, Mary Barra said that electric cars are changing the automotive industry at an unprecedented pace. It is anticipated that sales of electric cars in the world by 2040 could reach 41 million.
