Koncar takes over from Strabag job of building HPP Vranduk

Croatian company Koncar will take the role of leader of the consortium on the construction of hydroelectric power plant Vranduk near Zenica, reported Avaz citing sources close to the Management Board of Elektroprivreda BiH.

The newspaper’s edition recalls that such an outcome was announced after it became clear that the current leader of the consortium, Austria’s Strabag,

will get a quick termination of the contract because of a disagreement with the amendment of the treaty under which the Austrians need more money to continue the works, which the state-owned company does not want to agree to.
The value of the project is KM 114 million, and Končar, who was a subcontractor in the current contract, agreed in EP BiH negotiations to continue carrying out the works under the same conditions and at the same price.
