A Memorandum of Understanding with the goal to introduce highly efficient heating system in elementary school in the city of Olovo and the high school “Musa Cazim Catic” in Olovo was signed today in Sarajevo.

Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj canton and municipality of Olovo.

The MoU was signed by Zoran Morvaj on behalf of the USAID project, Peter Amhof and Fuad Imamovic from the Swiss Caritas, Bernadeta Galijaševiæ from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the ZDC Hadziabdic Ali, on behalf of the municipality of Olovo. These schools will be equipped with heating biomass fired boilers and heating system.

Building and hot water boilers will be financed by USAID 3E grants, and Caritas Switzerland loan.

USAID’s Project 3E project is a program worth $ 4.2 million to promote energy efficiency and technologies through the development of pilot projects in facilities funds from public and private sectors.

The aim of the pilot projects is to show in practice that energy efficiency saves money and gives consumers the most economical way to reduce energy consumption.
