Representatives of the Thermal Power Plant Ugljevik and Czech companies Enven Engineering and Termochem, signed a contract for the reconstruction of electrostatic precipitators, which is of great importance for environmental protection.
The investment is worth 19 million KM, and the funds were provided Ugljevicka termoeletrana through loans.
– Further development and investment Ugljevik thermal power plants are not possible without harmonization of legislation with the European Union. These obligations resulting from the commitments undertaken by the Republic of Serbian taken on the basis of international documents pertaining to the adoption of the standards listed directives of the European Union – said General Director Ugljevik Djordje Popovic.

Czech companies that have been selected to tender for contractors to have similar jobs 80 years of experience. The works will start on 1 April next year and will be completed within 90 days, said Zoran Knezevic, director of the consortium.
The reconstruction of electrostatic precipitators is a prerequisite for the desulphurization project, worth 100 million euros, which will be implemented in the next three years.
