Today, Elvedin Grabovica, General Manager of Elektroprivreda BiH and Sedžad Milanovic the Minister for the Economy in Central Bosnia Canton will sign a contract for granting concession for the construction of a wind farm on the plateau of Vlasic with an installed capacity of up to 50 megawatts.
The signing will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Central Bosnia Canton Tahir Lendo and members of EP BiH. The realization of the project preparation and construction of wind farms will take place in ten locations to generate direct financial benefits for the Canton, development and construction of road infrastructure of the wider area of the Pleiades, and the local community.
Building a wind farm is planned at ten locations – “Panje I”, “Panje II”, “Paklarske stijene”, “OÅ¡trik”, “Deveæani,” “Paninarski dom”, “Brajlovica”, “Ãenetic”, “Okolina kote 1616“ and “Okolina kote 1767”.
As stated in EP BiH, by signing the contract the possibility of using wind energy in central Bosnia will be created in order to produce electricity, which the local community has given considerable support.
On location of the future wind farm on the plateau of Vlasic will be implemented program exploration measuring wind parameters at the internationally recognized standards.
Elektroprivreda BiH by signing the contract, among other things, undertakes the design, financing, construction and maintenance of wind power by DBOT System (Desing, Build, Operate and Transfer).
The concession was granted for a period of 30 years with the possibility of extending the contract, during which the EP BiH to pay the concession fee in the amount of 1.5 percent of the total electricity produced from plants that use this renewable energy source.
Using renewable energy sources for electricity production has already become an imperative of modern and large companies both in Europe and elsewhere.
Subsidizing the production of electricity from renewable sources, especially wind, ensures the protection of the environment, reducing the impact of the use of fossil fuels on the environment by reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, says a press release EP BiH.
