The mayor also added that action obligations of signatories, one of the signatories of the City of Sarajevo, Zagreb, Skopje and Podgorica, are that this action plan to implement into European directives.

“The goal of the Action Plan is to reduce CO2 emissions by 2020 in all sectors by implementing energy efficiency measures, renewable energy, demand management, training and other measures”, said Behmen.

He pointed out that this is a joint action of the City of Sarajevo and Canton Sarajevo.

Vesna Kolega, the head of the department for international project development of the Regional Energy Agency of Northwestern Croatian (REGEA) was identified 39 measures, which aim to reduce CO2 emissions, such as reducing energy consumption in buildings, transport and public lighting and educate citizens how they can be more energy efficient.”

“By signing the Covenant of Mayors we have adopted great obligations, and one of these is to develop an Action plan”, said Haris Lulić, Minister of Transport and the Project Coordinator.
