The City of Mostar wants to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020 – Planned investment in energy efficiency in public buildings

The city of Mostar created a Energy Action Plan for Sustainable Development 2016-2020. which brings the proposed measures and actions needed to reduce CO2 emissions in the area of the city by 22% by 2020 compared to the reference year 2014, announced the Mostar City Administration.

– The Action Plan clearly shows the path where and how we can safely go as local government, and responsible implementation of sustainable energy policy – said Darko Knezović, coordinator for energy efficiency of the city of Mostar.

– We plan to start with a series of six workshops for the citizens of Mostar on the topic of energy efficiency in cooperation with the Centre for Development and Support (CRP) from Tuzla. We have a full range of energy renovation in public buildings in the city, and will soon make a detailed audit of all primary schools and it will be fully financed by the Fund for Environmental Protection HNC’s – said Knezović, emphasizing that in the preparation of the implementation of a detailed energy review of public lighting, also co-financed by the Fund for environmental protection HNC’s.
