On the roof of the building of the City of Sinj a photovoltaic power plant with a peak capacity of 30 kW was installed. The plant will produce around 51,000 kWh of electricity.

In 2013, the contract on purchase of electricity with the Croatian Energy Market Operator for a period of 14 years at the tariff of 0.63 € / kWh was signed. For the duration of the Purchase Agreement, the City estimates its revenue from electricity sales in the amount of 450,000 KM.

The expected lifetime of the power plant is 30 years, where the city, after the expiry of the purchase, in the next 16 years, produce electricity for their own use and disposal of surpluses.

This project of the city government should be a good sign for the citizens of Sinj as through co-financing by the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency to enable the production of electricity from renewable sources – the sun, which can become energy independent.
