Global climate agreement reached at the summit of the UN in Paris in December last year is feasible. On the contrary, it is a very viable and not just necessary, thanks to the rapid growth of renewable energy sources which will implode the fossil fuels industry.
Rigid beliefs and experts from Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the same state in a study published in the journal Nature Climate Change. The study puts special emphasis on the importance of limiting global warming with the help of renewable energy.
Limitation of temperature increase to less than two degrees Celsius, preferably within 1.5 degrees, is the aim of the agreement reached at the Cop21. For scientists from Potsdam this limitation can be complied with relatively low cost and by making the right policy, and all thanks to increased efficiency and lower cost of wind energy and photovoltaic.
“ The explosion of renewable energy sources, having reached a market penetration of 15-20% will lead to the implosion of industrial fossil fuels b> ‘, say scientists. Also, a strong climate agreement opens the way for a system of buying and selling CO2 emissions that would be adopted by a larger number of countries.
