Zenica receives 20 million grant for the rehabilitation of wastewater treatment – The project involves ArcelorMittal and coal mine

In the City Hall of Zenica today is representative of KfW mission Johannes Kannicht with the Mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović and director of the Water and Sewer Ekrem KAHRIMAN signed an agreement worth close to EUR 20 million, which will be solved the problem wastewater treatment in Zenica.

The project is of great importance is provided by grants with the condition that the waste water be solved and plants of ArcelorMittal Zenica and coal mine Zenica.

Participants of the project are the German banking group KfW, Swiss Agency SECO, PUC VIK Zenica, Public Administration and the Mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović.

Kahriman after today’s signing of the agreement stated that after negotiations with representatives of KfW and SECO come to an agreement to provide one hundred percent grant funding, and that the city of Zenica participate with one million euros and VIK Zenica with 800,000 euros.

– ArcelorMittal and mine must solve its waste water and we thought the good condition of our donors and financiers, because so solve all the dirty water in Zenica. Experts from Germany have come, take a situation and made a concept that will go to the documentation – said Kahriman.

In Banloz system will be installed in water treatment due to the fact that the city sewage ends up in the river Bosnia and the entire project should be completed in 2021.
